Ultrasound has become widely used as a means to measure the rectus femoris muscle in acute and chronic phases of critical illness. Despite its noninvasiveness accessibility, accuracy highly depends on skills technician. However, few ultrasound phantoms for confirmation or improve technical exist. In this study, authors created novel phantom model it investigating measurements training. Study 1 investigated how various conditions affect such thickness, cross-sectional area, echogenicity. 2 if can be training health care providers vitro vivo. showed that echogenicity were affected by probe compression strength, angle, compression, varying equipment. using improved taken within phantom, vivo had short-term effect improving measurement human volunteer.
